Cancer Black Care Brent: Supporting People Living with Cancer and the Community
Cancer Black Care (CBC) is dedicated to delivering a high-quality, patient-centred service to the
residents of Brent, with a focus on providing comprehensive, individualised care to people living with
cancer. Our services are designed to meet the needs of not only patients but also their families and
friends, with a particular emphasis on supporting Black people and ethnic minority communities who
have been affected by cancer or by the loss of loved ones.
Our goal is to offer a service that is free, accessible, and culturally sensitive, helping Black people and
ethnic minority residents navigate the challenges of living with cancer. We support service users,
carers, families, and friends by providing the resources they need to cope with the emotional and
physical impact of cancer.

Volunteers: Committed Hearts, Empowering Lives
Health Education and Awareness:
CBC promotes health and social inclusion by organising
community health forums, offering non-clinical cancer education, and raising awareness about cancer risk factors and healthy living.
Outreach Services:
Our staff and volunteers provide home visits for those unable to attend the drop in centre, assessing their needs in the comfort of their homes, hospitals, or hospices. We also conduct online talks via social media to broaden our reach within the community.
Inclusive Support:
We welcome all service users, regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs, and strive to meet their unique cultural and individual requirements.

"Acceptance of death and Cancer did not mean I intended to give up, just the opposite. I was prepared to fight Cancer not out of fear of dying, but out of the joy of living."
